In 2026, the required amount is 6243 kronor for a single adult and 10314 kronor for spouses or cohabiting partners. For pensioners and students, the amount that must remain after rent is 20 percent lower than the applicable figure above. Income may also be subject to an individual assessment.

A maximum of 6 people may be included in the household. You must register your official residence at the property address and use the home as your permanent residence; otherwise, the rental agreement may be terminated. Tenants are required to have home insurance. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and registered in Sweden, be an EU citizen or a Nordic citizen, or hold a permanent residence permit.

If you already rent from Botkyrkabyggen, note that the notice period for your current home is three months. Depending on when your new contract begins, you may have to pay rent for both homes for a period. The stated rent is based on the 2026 rental level. It may be adjusted after the annual rent negotiations have concluded, and the adjustment may be applied retroactively.
